Exchanges and Returns Policy
Local is Lekker ZA Home & Decor takes great pride in our products and wants you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Because we offer a wide range of standard, handmade, and bespoke items, including Monn Rugs and custom wall art, our return conditions vary slightly depending on the product you purchased.
Please read the following policy carefully.
1. Standard Return Timeframes & Fees
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, undamaged, and in the exact condition that you received it, with all original packaging intact.
Depending on the product category, the following timeframes and return fees apply:

General Home & Decor and Handmade Items:
Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery.
You are responsible for the return courier costs. -
Monn Rugs:
Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery.
A standard R300 courier return fee will be deducted from your refund. -
Wall Art & Gallery Frames (Bespoke and Made on Demand):
Returns must be requested within 7 days of delivery.
A R150 return fee will be deducted from your refund.
Note: Due to the personalized nature of our custom artwork and frames, we strictly allow only one exchange per order. Multiple exchanges are not permitted.
2. Items Not Eligible for Return
Certain types of goods are exempt from being returned or exchanged unless they arrive damaged or defective. These include:

Custom Made and Personalized Products: Items crafted specifically to your requested sizes, personal preferences, or featuring personalized text. Once production has begun, these cannot be cancelled, returned, or exchanged.

Sale and Clearance Items: Only regular priced items may be refunded or credited.

Gift Cards.

Items missing their original packaging or returned more than the stipulated 7 or 14 days after delivery.
3. Important Disclaimers & Expectations

Handmade Variations: Weaving on a traditional loom and crafting handmade decor is delicate work that makes each item unique. Slight sizing and colour discrepancies from the photographed images are normal and are not considered defects.

Material Expectations: We provide detailed product descriptions, including the exact materials used (for example, specifying plexiglass instead of museum glass for frames). Returns cannot be accepted on the basis that a customer assumed a different finish, size, or material if the product was accurately described on our website.
4. Damaged or Defective Items
If your item arrives damaged due to transit, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery.

Email us at accounts@localislekkerza.co.za with your order number and clear photographs of both the damaged item and the packaging.

We will work with you to repair, replace, or refund the item at no additional cost.
Warranty of Quality (CPA Compliance):
All products are sold with an implied warranty of quality. If a product is found to be defective (due to manufacturing) within 6 months of receipt, you have the right to a repair, replacement, or refund. This does not cover ordinary wear and tear, or damage caused by failing to follow the specific cleaning and care instructions provided for our products.
5. How to Log a Return or Exchange
Please do not send your purchase back to the artisan or manufacturer directly.

Email accounts@localislekkerza.co.za to request a return or exchange. Include your order number, the items you wish to return, and the reason for the return.

Once approved, we will provide you with the correct return shipping address and instructions.

If you are shipping a high value item back to us, we highly recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee receipt of your returned item.
6. Refunds & Store Credit
Once your return is received and inspected at our facilities, we will send you an email to notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

Approved Refunds: Your refund (minus applicable return courier fees) will be processed and automatically applied to your original method of payment via our secure payment gateways. Please note that original shipping fees are not refundable.

Late Refunds: If you haven’t received a refund yet, please check with your bank or credit card company, as processing times can vary. If you still have not received it, please contact us.

Gifts: If the item was marked as a gift and shipped directly to you, you will receive a store credit voucher for the value of your return once the item is received.
